Production Technician
Job Description
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Shift: 10-hour shift Monday-Thursday
Pay: $20 per hour
We are currently recruiting for a Production Technician – Oxygen Transfill in Indianapolis, IN. This position will participate in all aspects of filling high-pressure medical oxygen cylinders, including pre-fill inspections, filling, testing, and post-fill processes in a regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and prepare aluminum and steel oxygen cylinders.
- Connect cylinders to filling manifolds and safely fill high-pressure cylinders with oxygen.
- Disconnect, test, and inspect cylinders to verify filling requirements.
- Complete all required post-fill processes.
- Store oxygen cylinders in the appropriate department or warehouse location.
- Accurately document all work performed according to written policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, including lot and batch numbers, cylinder maintenance and inspection logs, and FDA-required documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and safe workstation.
- Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong team player who works well in a team environment.
- Ability to work a 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM schedule. Monday-Thursday
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Basic manufacturing and warehousing knowledge.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to successfully complete required Medical Gases P&P training and competency testing.
- Technical degree or relevant technical training preferred.
- Experience with chemicals, hazardous gases, or gas analysis preferred.
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated production environment preferred.
- Prior forklift experience is a plus.
- Ability to regularly use hands to operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to read documents and accurately write and record information.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, exam-style gloves, and cut-resistant gloves.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, kneel, reach, bend, and squat.
- Ability to frequently and repetitively grip and handle materials.
- Ability to lift items weighing 15 lbs. or less above shoulder height up to 6 feet.
- Ability to use pallet jacks and/or tilters to push and pull cylinder containers weighing up to 1,200 lbs.
- Ability to repeatedly move cylinders from containers to inspection tables and filling racks.
- Ability to reach approximately 20 inches from the body while performing job duties.
This position is performed in a high-pressure oxygen transfill/production environment. Noise levels may range from low to high industrial noise, and appropriate hearing protection is available. Employees are required to wear proper protective equipment while working in the facility.
