Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: Hybrid – Onsite Monday–Thursday, Remote Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $30–$35/hour DOE
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire (Client has excellent benefits)
We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage a portfolio of large national and retail accounts.
Hot Buttons: Bachelor Degree, Advanced Excel (Vlookup/pivots) and Big Box/Large accounts experience.
Duties for the position:
- Manage AR and collections for large national and major retail accounts
- Work daily aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due balances
- Manage high-volume customer accounts and payment commitments
- Research and resolve retailer chargebacks, deductions, shortages, pricing issues, allowances, and freight claims
- Submit and track disputes through retailer vendor portals
- Reconcile customer accounts, remittance details, unapplied cash, short pays, and credits
- Process credit memos, adjustments, and customer payments
- Monitor payment trends, credit exposure, and potential account risks
- Support month-end and quarter-end close
- Assist with audit support and AR reporting
Requirements for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 5+ years of B2B Accounts Receivable and collections experience
- Experience managing large or national customer accounts
- Large retail, apparel, footwear, wholesale, or consumer products experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with chargebacks, deductions, and dispute resolution
- Experience working with retailer vendor portals and EDI environments preferred
- Strong account reconciliation and cash application experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, SUMIFS, and working with large data sets
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume portfolio and meet tight deadlines
