We are looking for a skilled Paralegal to join a law firm’s trusts and estates practice in Houston, Texas on a Contract basis. This position will support probate and estate administration matters by preparing legal documents, coordinating filings, and keeping cases organized from opening through completion. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of Texas probate procedures, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, courts, and outside parties.

Responsibilities:
• Support attorneys throughout probate and estate administration matters, from initial intake through final closing activities.
• Prepare, review, and submit probate pleadings, court forms, and related legal documentation with a high level of accuracy.
• Draft routine legal correspondence, notices, applications, inventories, and other documents used in trusts and estates matters.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, court personnel, financial institutions, and beneficiaries to gather information and provide case updates.
• Track case deadlines, maintain organized files, and manage calendars to help ensure timely handling of probate proceedings.
• Assist with estate planning documentation, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related supporting materials.
• Collect, review, and organize financial records, asset details, and supporting documents needed for probate and administration work.
• Coordinate hearings, document execution, and notarization activities while helping maintain compliance with court and firm procedures.• At least 3 years of experience in probate, estate planning, or a closely related paralegal position.
• Working knowledge of Texas probate rules, filing practices, and court documentation requirements.
• Demonstrated experience preparing probate filings, estate administration materials, and other legal documents.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines efficiently.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and external stakeholders professionally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Paralegal certificate preferred.
• Familiarity with discovery, civil litigation, trial preparation, or broader litigation support is a plus.
