Working Supervisor
Job Description
The Working Supervisor leads production operations on either laser cutting and/or forming lines while actively working as a Production Operator. This role provides hands-on oversight to shift Operators and Product Generalists, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality fabrication in a heavy manufacturing environment. The position involves operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and various hand tools, and may support multiple shops and CNC equipment as needed.
Responsibilities- Lead by example as a hands-on Production Operator on laser cutting and/or forming equipment, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to other shift Operators and Product Generalists, supporting workflow, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating tasks.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely to move materials, parts, and finished products throughout the facility.
- Use a variety of hand tools to support fabrication, assembly, and secondary processes as required.
- Float and assist across multiple shops when directed by leadership to support production needs and cross-functional operations.
- Operate or support various CNC equipment and machines, including laser cutters, tube lasers, and water jet machinery, following established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform clearing of parts by removing components from skeletons, counting, and palletizing them accurately for downstream processes.
- Carry out hardware insertion and pemming operations with attention to detail and adherence to specifications.
- Support part and product assembly, along with secondary processes, to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance as directed, helping to keep machinery in good working order and minimize downtime.
- Participate in shop cleanup and housekeeping activities to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.

- Experience as a production operator in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with specific exposure to laser cutting and production operations.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts in a production or warehouse setting.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools used in fabrication, assembly, and maintenance tasks.
- Capability to stand for 8–10 hours per shift in a heavy fabrication environment.
- Ability to lift and move 50–75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Experience with machine operating and CNC equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to oversee and support other operators on shift.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a heavy fabrication environment that is not temperature controlled, requiring comfort with varying conditions throughout the year. The facility operates advanced machinery, including one flat laser, two tube lasers, and one water jet, along with forklifts, overhead cranes, and related equipment. There is one opening on second shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and one opening on third shift (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday), with training conducted on first shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) for up to a couple of months. The work involves standing for extended periods, lifting 50–75 pounds, and working around heavy fabrication processes. Candidates will participate in an interview process prior to hire.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Honey Brook, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
