Job Description
The Picker / Material Handler works in a clean, world-class kit assembly facility, accurately selecting, counting, and moving materials that support cleanroom kitting operations. This role involves extensive walking, material handling, and the use of RF scanners and pick sheets to ensure the right products are delivered to the cleanroom in a timely and precise manner.
Responsibilities
- Use pick sheets and RF scanners to accurately locate and pick products required by kitting assemblers.
- Load picked materials into totes and place them onto the conveyor system for transfer into the cleanroom.
- Perform precise counting of products, ensuring correct quantities are picked, especially when pack sizes differ from required counts.
- Handle and move materials throughout the warehouse, including frequent walking and climbing as needed to access inventory.
- Follow written work instructions carefully to maintain accuracy, quality, and compliance with operational standards.
- Lift and carry materials up to 20 lbs as part of daily picking, packing, loading, and unloading activities.
- Support shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations as needed, including scanning, staging, and organizing materials.
- Work collaboratively with cleanroom assemblers by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of kits and components.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to facility and cleanroom requirements.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and cleanliness protocols while working in close proximity to other team members.
Essential Skills
- Ability to accurately count products, including situations where required quantities differ from standard pack sizes (for example, counting 40 units from a pack of 100).
- Ability to stand for a full 8-hour shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to follow written work instructions consistently and precisely.
- Comfort working in close quarters with other team members.
- Willingness to adhere to cleanroom personal appearance requirements, including no makeup, no jewelry, and no long nails.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience, particularly in picking or order picker roles.
- Experience in manufacturing or general warehouse environments.
- Prior cleanroom experience in any industry.
- Previous kit assembly experience, especially in a cleanroom setting..
- Familiarity with distribution, shipping, receiving, lifting, scanning, loading, unloading, and forklift operations is beneficial.

Work Environment
The role is based in a cleanroom kit assembly facility that is described as super clean, modern, and world-class. Work takes place in a warehouse environment that feeds materials into the cleanroom, involving extensive walking and movement throughout the facility. Team members work in close quarters and must fully gown up to enter and work in the cleanroom, following strict cleanliness and personal appearance standards, including no makeup, no jewelry, and no long nails. The position is available on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with every other Saturday overtime from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) and 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with Saturday overtime as needed). Work involves regular standing for 8 hours, lifting up to 20 lbs, and using RF scanners, conveyors, and totes in a fast-paced but organized warehouse and cleanroom environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
