The Quality Inspector performs visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections on landing gear assemblies, subassemblies, and supplier components to ensure they meet all engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role supports production schedules and quality objectives by executing thorough inspection activities, accurately documenting results, and identifying nonconforming materials. The position is ideal for someone with strong aerospace inspection experience, excellent blueprint interpretation skills, and a solid understanding of quality standards and inspection processes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections of landing gear assemblies, subassemblies, and supplier components to verify overall condition and conformance to specifications.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring tools to ensure parts meet engineering and customer requirements.
  • Carry out receiving inspections of supplier-provided components to confirm compliance with quality and documentation standards.
  • Perform stock purge inspections as required to identify and remove nonconforming or outdated materials from inventory.
  • Execute product inspection activities in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Accurately document inspection results and activities on applicable quality records and forms.
  • Identify nonconforming material, document findings, and process discrepancies in line with company procedures.
  • Support production schedules by completing inspections in a timely manner without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with quality and production teams to communicate inspection findings and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and consistency in all inspection tasks to uphold quality objectives.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in quality inspection or quality assurance, ideally within aerospace or a similar precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection methods, including visual and dimensional inspection techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Solid understanding of quality control and quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Ability to perform final inspection activities and verify product conformity prior to release.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to record inspection results accurately and clearly.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in performing quality checks.
  • Ability to identify, document, and process nonconforming material in accordance with established procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with landing gear or other complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and customer quality requirements in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Comfort working with established procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to support continuous improvement of inspection processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Haltom City, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
