Job Description

The Wire Assembler installs and connects electrical wiring and components for power and control panels in a production environment. You will read and interpret point-to-point schematics and wiring diagrams, use hand tools to cut, strip, crimp, and route cables, and ensure all wiring is clean, organized, and compliant with quality standards. This is a first-shift role, Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., requiring strong attention to detail and comfort working on your feet throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret point-to-point schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to complete wiring tasks accurately.
  • Run wires through electrical panels, equipment, and enclosures according to diagrams and specifications.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables using appropriate hand tools and techniques.
  • Mount electrical components, such as relays, terminal blocks, and other hardware, using screws and appropriate mounting hardware.
  • Connect wires from point A to point B based on wiring diagrams, ensuring correct terminations and secure connections.
  • Wire electrical equipment and control panels using instructions and wiring diagrams as guides.
  • Route, bundle, and organize wires cleanly and neatly to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Use hand tools such as crimpers, cutters, strippers, and wire cutters safely and effectively.
  • Inspect completed wiring for accuracy, cleanliness, and adherence to specifications.
  • Work on your feet for extended periods while assembling and wiring panels in a production setting.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma.
  • At least 1 year of electrical wiring experience, such as panel building, electrical assembly, or electrical wiring.
  • Ability to read and follow point-to-point schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating wires and cables.
  • Experience with control panel wiring, panel building, or wire harness assembly.
  • Skilled in using small hand tools including crimpers, cutters, strippers, and wire cutters.
  • Ability to route cables cleanly and neatly to meet quality standards.
  • Comfort standing on your feet for 8 or more hours per day in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step instructions accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with control panels or wire harness assembly from manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with cable installation, cable assembly, and panel wiring practices.
  • Ability to follow basic wiring diagrams and cable layouts with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in environments involving panel building, control panel assembly, or similar electrical assembly work.

Work Environment

You will work in a warehouse-type facility, primarily in a climate-controlled area where electrical panels and assemblies are built. There is access to the rest of the facility, which may become warm during the summer months. The role follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Work is hands-on and tool-intensive, involving frequent use of crimpers, cutters, strippers, wire cutters, and other small hand tools. You will spend most of the day standing and moving within the production area while wiring and assembling panels in a clean, organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sanford, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
