Quality Assurance Technician I – Medical Device / GMP Lab
Location: Tempe, AZ – 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21/hour
Contract: 12+ Months

Position Summary

Becton Dickinson is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I to support the Field Assurance/Complaint Handling Lab. The technician will perform testing and analysis of returned medical-device complaint samples, maintain accurate laboratory documentation, and ensure activities are completed according to GMP, GLP, safety, and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and analysis of medical-device complaint samples according to written protocols.
  • Receive, document, decontaminate, evaluate, store, and dispose of complaint samples.
  • Collect, record, and analyze test results accurately.
  • Identify and escalate unexpected or abnormal test results.
  • Use calibrated laboratory equipment and measuring tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and biosafety procedures.
  • Clean and disinfect laboratory areas and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of laboratory processes and test methods.
  • Follow established procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, customers, and support personnel.


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma and/or associate degree in a technical, science, mathematics, or engineering field.
  • Medical device/GMP or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional/team environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed written testing procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, willingness to complete it, or signed waiver.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Laboratory safety experience.
  • Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience with microscopes and measuring equipment.
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience with OGP Flash 500 SmartScope.
  • Experience performing testing according to written protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and work with hands for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle laboratory tools, equipment, and samples.
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
