Job Description

We are seeking an experienced carpenter with expertise in steel framing for both residential and commercial construction. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong understanding of construction math and building codes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform steel framing for walls, floors, roofs, and structural elements according to project plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to maintain an efficient and safe job site.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and assemble framing materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of framing carpentry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of framing techniques, construction math, and building codes.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and with power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Willing and able to travel for warranty work (company covers expenses).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and solve on-site issues.

Work Environment

Work primarily at outdoor job sites. Required attire includes steel toe boots, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt. Must have personal basic tools including the person and the person bits, caulking gun, grinder, hammer, measuring tape, and basic hand tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montebello, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
