Job Description
We are looking for a LifePro Developer to join a team in West Des Moines, Iowa in a contract-to-permanent position. This position is suited for a senior-level engineer who brings strong back-end development experience and enjoys building reliable solutions within insurance and policy administration environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, collaborating with peers, and using modern AI-enabled tools to improve development speed, quality, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and enhance back-end applications using C# and .NET to support business-critical policy administration functions.
• Maintain and improve solutions connected to LifePro and mainframe-based systems, ensuring dependable performance and long-term stability.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and SQL Server components to support application functionality and data integrity.
• Partner with technical leads and team members to evaluate development approaches and clearly communicate the reasoning behind implementation decisions.
• Use Azure DevOps to manage assigned work, contribute to delivery planning, and support efficient software development practices.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to streamline coding tasks, improve productivity, and explore better engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical technical solutions.
• Support ongoing application maintenance, issue resolution, and enhancements for existing enterprise platforms.
• Share ideas proactively with the team and contribute to a culture of open discussion, continuous improvement, and thoughtful problem-solving.• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with C# and the .NET framework.
• Strong background in back-end software engineering within enterprise application environments.
• Experience working with policy administration platforms, including LifePro or similar insurance-related systems.
• Proficiency with SQL Server and writing complex SQL queries for application support and data access.
• Familiarity with mainframe-connected applications and integration considerations in established technology environments.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for source control, work tracking, or delivery coordination.
• Demonstrated interest in AI-assisted development tools and a practical mindset for using them to improve engineering efficiency.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative team setting.
