• Produce monthly and annual financial reports that support informed business decisions and leadership review.
• Lead the close cycle at month-end and year-end, including reconciliations, adjustments, and final reporting preparation.
• Partner with external tax advisors to organize filings, deliver required documentation, and support annual tax preparation.
• Maintain adherence to construction-related financial regulations, reporting standards, and documentation requirements.
• Prepare schedules and supporting materials for audits and other financial reviews conducted by outside parties.
• Track cash position and evaluate overall financial performance to help leadership plan effectively.
• Assess existing accounting workflows and internal controls, then recommend and implement practical improvements.
• Support project-based accounting functions such as job costing and financial tracking across active construction work.
• Preserve complete and reliable financial records to ensure accurate reporting and operational transparency.• At least 5 years of accounting or controllership experience, including leadership responsibility within a small to mid-sized construction business.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, close processes, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reporting, and year-end financial documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while serving as a trusted financial lead for the organization.
• Proven skill in reviewing accounting procedures and improving controls, efficiency, and reporting quality.
• Familiarity with preparing financial information for outside accounting or tax firms.
• Experience with Foundation Software is highly preferred; experience with other construction accounting platforms is also valued.
