Job Description

This role involves inspecting, assembling, and packaging plastic fascia components used behind front and rear vehicle bumpers in a fast-paced production environment. You will work on a production line performing repetitive tasks, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and following direction from supervisors to ensure high-quality parts and consistent output. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect plastic fascia components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before packaging or further processing.
  • Assemble fascia parts accurately according to established procedures and production specifications.
  • Cut off flashing and excess material from plastic parts to achieve clean, finished components.
  • Package finished parts safely and efficiently, ensuring correct counts and proper placement for shipment or storage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout the shift, including regular cleanup of work areas and equipment.
  • Follow directions from supervisors and leads, including changes in tasks, workflow, or production priorities.
  • Stand and work on the production line for the duration of the shift while performing repetitive motions such as lifting, bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis as part of daily tasks.
  • Adhere to attendance and punctuality expectations, understanding that consistent attendance impacts eligibility for continued employment and seniority benefits.
  • Work overtime as needed, including occasional extended shifts, to support production demands and meet customer requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform production, general labor, and general production tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience or aptitude in basic assembly work, including working with plastic components and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to perform packaging duties, including counting, sorting, and preparing parts for shipment or storage.
  • Capability to conduct basic visual inspection of parts to identify defects, damage, or non-conforming materials.
  • Physical ability to stand on your feet for 8-hour shifts and perform continuous, repetitive work.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and safely handle materials throughout the shift.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching on a regular basis.
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional overtime as required by production schedules.
  • Strong reliability and commitment to attendance, including understanding and adhering to attendance and point-based policies.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and respond positively to direction from supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or general labor environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with working in non-climate-controlled facilities or similar industrial settings.
  • Comfort working with repetitive tasks and maintaining focus and accuracy over the course of a full shift.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing production needs.
  • Attention to detail and quality mindset when inspecting and assembling parts.
  • Understanding of basic safety practices in a production environment, including safe lifting and workstation housekeeping.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility, where temperatures may vary with the seasons. You will work on a standing production line for the majority of the 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift, with occasional overtime as needed. The environment involves regular exposure to noise, moving machinery, and plastic components, and requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting. The facility expects employees to maintain a clean and orderly work area and to adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures appropriate for an industrial manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
