We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Administrator to support daily administrative and patient coordination activities for a healthcare organization. This is a Contract position suited for someone with experience in medical office operations, insurance-related processes, and electronic documentation. The ideal candidate will help maintain efficient front-office workflows while ensuring patients, providers, and records are managed accurately and appropriately.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate patient appointments, update calendars, and help maintain an organized scheduling process for providers and clinical services.
• Review insurance details prior to visits, confirm eligibility and coverage information, and help address documentation needed for verification.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record system and ensure information is entered with a high level of accuracy.
• Process referral-related paperwork and support authorization activities to help facilitate timely access to ordered services.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, and internal staff to provide administrative support and respond to routine questions in a clear and courteous manner.
• Use medical terminology appropriately when handling records, documentation, and communication related to patient care services.
• Assist with general office administration, including tracking forms, managing correspondence, and supporting day-to-day healthcare operations.
• Support hospice-related administrative workflows as needed, including record coordination and service documentation.• At least 2 years of experience in a medical administrative, healthcare support, or similar office-based role.
• Working knowledge of basic medical terminology and the ability to apply it accurately in daily administrative tasks.
• Experience with medical insurance verification, including confirming coverage and obtaining required information.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and confidence navigating EMR documentation workflows.
• Background in patient scheduling and coordinating appointments in a clinical or healthcare environment.
• Experience supporting referral authorization or related insurance approval processes.
• Comfortable using Microsoft office tools for documentation, communication, and administrative tracking.
• Prior exposure to hospice services or hospice administration is preferred.
