We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support a busy legal team. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who thrives in a litigation-focused environment and can keep deadlines, filings, and case materials organized with a high degree of accuracy. The person in this role will contribute to the smooth coordination of legal proceedings by managing schedules, preparing documentation, and maintaining confidential records.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee complex attorney calendars by tracking court appearances, depositions, discovery timelines, response dates, and other case-related deadlines.
• Coordinate meetings and legal proceedings by arranging schedules with clients, courts, and external vendors while managing related logistics.
• Prepare, edit, and finalize legal correspondence, pleadings, and other case documents with strong attention to grammar, format, and accuracy.
• Assemble organized materials for hearings, depositions, and trials, including exhibits, binders, and supporting documentation.
• Submit pleadings and related materials through electronic court filing systems in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Maintain case files, docket information, and sensitive legal records with a high level of confidentiality and organization.
• Support travel planning tied to legal proceedings, including reservations, itinerary coordination, and expense reimbursement processing.
• Provide additional administrative and litigation support as needed to assist attorneys and keep matters moving efficiently.• Prior experience in a Legal Secretary or similar legal support role, preferably within a litigation practice.
• Working knowledge of court filing procedures, docket management, and legal documentation standards.
• Strong calendar management skills with the ability to monitor multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Proficiency in drafting and proofreading legal correspondence and formal documents.
• Familiarity with legal terminology, litigation support activities, and case preparation processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain accurate, well-organized records.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for working with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and third-party vendors.
