Robert Half is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join a reputable law firm in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have substantial litigation experience and a strong background in managing legal documentation and trial preparation. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with dedicated attorneys to make a meaningful impact on behalf of the firm's clients.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain legal files to ensure all records are accurate and easily accessible.
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, disclosures, interrogatories, discovery requests, and motions.
- Support attorneys with trial preparation, including the execution and management of necessary documentation.
- Communicate regularly with clients to address inquiries and provide updates, while also coordinating with experts as needed.
- Assist with general legal support tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to legal standards.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence through both electronic and paper-based communication channels.
- Initiate and monitor the progress of medical records requests to support ongoing cases.
- Review, analyze, and organize large volumes of medical and legal records for litigation purposes.
- Ensure all medical documents are updated, accurate, and meet necessary requirements for legal proceedings.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong focus on medical malpractice cases.
- Proven expertise in litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and case management.
- Proficiency with case management software and other legal technology tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage large volumes of documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and drafting legal documents.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with handling medical records and understanding medical terminology.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to supporting attorneys and contributing to case success.
