Laboratory Technician - Great Opportunity for New Grads to Gain Experience!About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support analytical testing activities within a pharmaceutical laboratory environment. In this role, you will prepare and organize testing kits and materials used by laboratory scientists to analyze pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates, APIs, finished products, and stability samples.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in Chemistry, Biology, or other physical sciences who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and assemble analytical testing kits based on approved laboratory methods and testing requirements
  • Gather and organize materials including:
    • HPLC columns
    • Volumetric glassware
    • Mobile phases and diluents
    • Filtration media
    • Reference standards
    • Labels and laboratory documentation
  • Prepare laboratory solutions and mobile phases while accurately documenting all activities
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and assist with ordering laboratory supplies
  • Complete sample receipt and log-in documentation
  • Perform daily housekeeping activities, including:
    • Waste disposal
    • Cleaning, drying, and storing glassware
    • Maintaining laboratory organization and cleanliness
  • Conduct routine Operational Qualification (OQ) checks on laboratory equipment such as analytical balances and Karl Fischer titrators
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with GMP, Quality Assurance, SOPs, and Environmental Health & Safety requirements
  • Prioritize and schedule kitting activities to support laboratory testing timelines
  • Collaborate effectively with scientists and laboratory team members to support testing operations
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or another physical science discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation
  • Basic understanding of laboratory practices and scientific calculations
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical, chemical, or analytical testing laboratory
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Experience preparing laboratory solutions and reagents

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move throughout laboratory areas
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment and handle laboratory materials
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, safety shoes, and other safety equipment as needed

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Florence, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
