We are looking for a Supply Chain Analyst to support inbound transportation activities for a manufacturing organization in Parsippany, New Jersey. This contract position with permanent potential focuses on coordinating drayage moves, improving carrier performance, and maintaining reliable shipment visibility across the inbound network. The ideal candidate brings a strong logistics background, sound judgment in fast-moving situations, and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and transportation partners.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the assignment of inbound container drayage moves to approved carriers while following established transportation guidelines.
• Keep operating procedures accurate and up to date, and share process changes with logistics partners, customs contacts, internal inbound teams, and transportation providers.
• Gather carrier status updates and combine shipment tracking details into daily inbound reporting for internal visibility.
• Source and evaluate market pricing for new drayage lanes to support cost-effective transportation planning throughout the year.
• Reassign loads to alternate carriers when service issues arise or when primary providers decline shipment coverage.
• Review carrier performance each day, address service disruptions quickly, and take action to reduce delays and extra accessorial costs.
• Support operations, sales, finance, and compliance teams by securing shipment documentation, transportation details, and spot quotes as needed.
• Strengthen the carrier network by meeting with prospective service providers, assisting with selection decisions, and helping onboard new partners.
• Lead recurring carrier business reviews, oversee annual bid and volume allocation activities, and help negotiate transportation agreements.
• Prepare and distribute weekly port activity updates and contribute to process improvement projects that enhance inbound logistics execution.• 2+ years of experience in supply chain, transportation, or logistics analysis roles.
• Working knowledge of supply chain logistics, supply chain management, and global supply chain operations.
• Experience tracking carrier performance, resolving transportation issues, and managing shipment visibility.
• Ability to analyze rates, compare service options, and support carrier sourcing or bidding activities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across operations, sales, finance, compliance, and external carrier partners.
• Comfortable making timely decisions in a fast-paced environment to minimize disruption and control transportation costs.
• Proficiency in reporting, data consolidation, and maintaining organized documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with forecasting or production planning concepts is a plus.
