Job Description
Required Experience and Certifications:
- 1-3 years of commercial cable installation experience.
- Experience cable splicing and ability to speak on splicing knowledge.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- Man lifts and CPR certification required.
- Valid Drivers License w/ Ability to obtain a DOT medical card strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Ability to independently perform all Level I functions
• Mid-level ability to support Data Center, ISP and OSP projects in a variety of customer facilities nationwide with the ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility
•Possesses advanced knowledge and skillsets to utilize various hand tools to complete splices including diagonal cutters, razor blades, ribbon splitters, etc.
• Mid-level ability to read and interpret construction prints, splice matrices, cable pathway matrices, and drawings to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled
• Perform mid-level fiber and copper cable installation including aerial, underground, ISP cable routing, cable termination, assembly, and dressing to satisfy customer requirements
• Install cable pathways (i.e. J-hooks, support rings, cable slings, cable trays, ladder racks, etc.) and ground/bond IT equipment to satisfy customer expectations and contribute to project success
• Read/process test results and solve basic issues identified during troubleshooting using test equipment emulation software
• Ability to install and/or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures
• Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization
• Effectively communicates with internal (training peers) and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, etc.), addressing issues as they arise and offering customer-centric solutions
• Responds timely to critical situations and emergency outages with an appropriate level of urgency
• Creates labels for installed equipment and cables to ensure satisfactory customer deliverables
• Leads by example, with the ability to train and mentor Level I Technicians
Schedule: Onsite in New Albany, OH (60-72 hours/ week); night and day shift
Compensation: $25-$30/ hour
