Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Grain Refining / Laboratory Technician with a local manufacturing company in the Malaga/Wenatchee area. This is a great opportunity for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on technical work, and is interested in gaining experience in a laboratory and quality environment.This is currently a temporary position for an undetermined length of time, with potential for additional training and possible long-term employment based on business needs. Permanent employment is not guaranteed.Pay: $19.00–$20.00/hrSchedule: 4:00 AM–12:30 PMLocation: Malaga, WAAnticipated Start Date: August 31, 2026Important: The 4:00 AM start time is a set schedule and is not flexible. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential, as other laboratory and quality processes depend on the completion of this work.What You'll DoAs a Grain Refining / Laboratory Technician, you will assist with laboratory testing and sample preparation while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.Responsibilities may include:Prepare samples for laboratory testing and evaluationPerform grain refining testing according to established proceduresReview production samples for accuracy and proper labelingPrepare samples for Chemistry, Metallography, and Grain Refining testingCast and etch grain refining samplesAnalyze samples using a microscopeRecord test results and complete required data entryMaintain accurate laboratory recordsMaintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areasFollow established safety, quality, and laboratory proceduresPerform other related duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForReliable and dependable with excellent attendanceStrong attention to detail and ability to follow proceduresComfortable working a strict 4:00 AM–12:30 PM scheduleBasic math and computer skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to read and understand written procedures and work instructionsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAssociate degree or equivalent experience preferredPrevious laboratory, manufacturing, quality, production, or technical experience is a plusCurrent driver's licenseAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include heat, moving equipment, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicalsOpportunity to Cross-TrainThe selected candidate may have opportunities to cross-train in additional laboratory areas in the future, including Wet Lab and Metallography/microscope-related work. These areas may have different day-shift schedules, so future schedule flexibility would be helpful for additional training opportunities.Qualified candidates may be asked to participate in a pre-start facility tour and meet with the Quality Manager as part of the selection process.
