LHH is working on behalf of our fantastic client in Manhattan -midtown who has an immediate Billing Manager staffing need. This role is hybrid 3/2 in the office.

The Billing Manager will lead the company's billing operations and manage a small, growing team responsible for invoicing across clients, properties, talent, and other business relationships. The Billing Manager will partner closely with Finance leadership, Legal, and client-facing teams to support the company's broader financial operations. The ideal candidate brings strong billing expertise gained in a service-based organization, sound judgment, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end billing operations, including invoice preparation, review, approval, and distribution.
  • Ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and consistent with executed contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
  • Review contracts and supporting documentation to confirm that rates, commissions, fees, expenses, and payment schedules are reflected correctly.
  • Review and approve credit memos, invoice adjustments, write-offs, and other billing transactions in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversee billing reconciliations to ensure invoiced amounts agree with contracts, subledgers, general ledger accounts, and supporting documentation.
  • Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, reporting, and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • At least three years of billing or accounts receivable experience, including a minimum of one year managing or supervising a team.
  • Experience in a service-based organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, delegate work, and hold team members accountable for deadlines and quality standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve billing and payment issues effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally.
Annual compensation DOE - $110K - $125K
