Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Production Packer for a contract/temporary opportunity in Jackson, MI. This night shift role supports the manufacturing and packaging of finished vinyl siding and accessory products in a fast-paced production environment.
The Production Packer plays an important role in maintaining product quality, safe work practices, accurate packaging, and steady line flow. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in hands-on manufacturing work, enjoys being part of a team, and can stay focused in a busy industrial setting.
This position offers a structured rotating schedule, supportive production leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to a stable manufacturing operation where safety, teamwork, and quality are key priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with production line setup, including stringing the line and preparing packing materials.
- Assemble, glue, label, and number packing boxes accurately for finished vinyl siding products.
- Visually inspect siding panels for color variations, defects, and other quality concerns before packaging.
- Load finished siding boxes onto skids and strap skids securely for warehouse removal.
- Maintain housekeeping, safety, and quality standards throughout assigned production areas.
- Report production issues, restock supplies, monitor hot glue levels, and assist with training other packers as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $19 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/temporary.
- Location: Jackson, MI 49203.
- Shift: Nights, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Schedule: Rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
- Schedule Pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, continuing rotation.
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend, Friday through Sunday, based on the rotating schedule.
