Payroll Specialist
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced ADP Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large employee population within in El Segundo, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage complex payroll activities with accuracy across salaried and hourly groups in multiple states. The role begins with an onsite training and onboarding period before moving into a hybrid arrangement, with remote candidates also considered depending on fit.
Responsibilities:
• Administer end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 800 employees, ensuring timely and accurate pay for both semi-monthly salaried staff and hourly team members.
• Manage multi-state payroll activities while maintaining compliance with applicable wage, tax, and reporting requirements.
• Review, validate, and reconcile payroll data including earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments before final submission.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now to maintain payroll records, process changes, and support routine payroll operations.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, and system-related issues in a timely manner.
• Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to ensure employee updates such as hires, terminations, compensation changes, and benefit deductions are reflected correctly in payroll.
• Support payroll work connected to mergers, acquisitions, or organizational changes, including data validation and employee setup activities.
• Contribute to payroll documentation, audit readiness, and process consistency by maintaining accurate records and following established controls
• Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees.• Hands-on expertise with ADP Workforce Now in a payroll processing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, tax withholdings, and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling payroll for both salaried and hourly employee populations.
• Solid understanding of payroll deductions, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Ability to work accurately with high volumes of payroll data while meeting deadlines.
• Previous experience supporting payroll-related activities tied to mergers and acquisitions is preferred.
