Overhead Crane Operator – Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes safely to move, lift, and position materials and equipment.
• Inspect the crane, controls, hooks, cables, chains, and other equipment before use.
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines.
• Safely attach and secure loads before lifting.
• Control the crane while moving materials to the correct location.
• Communicate with coworkers and signal personnel during lifting operations.
• Keep the work area clear and watch for people or obstacles.
• Report any equipment problems, damage, or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow proper load limits and never exceed the crane’s rated capacity.
• Perform other warehouse or shop duties as needed.
