IT Support Specialist / Systems Support
Pay Range
$28 – $38 per hour ($58,000 – $79,000 per year)
Summary
Responsible for day-to-day desktop support and a range of systems administration tasks across the organization. Serves as the primary on-site technical resource for users, facility equipment, and several specialized systems. This position also supports non-IT tasks as needed and plays an active part in the overall operation and its success.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide desktop, hardware, and software support for end users (passwords, printers, Microsoft 365, email, etc.)
• Set up new computers and perform hardware troubleshooting and repairs
• Set up and manage user accounts and permissions
• Install and configure network access switches and other network devices
• Perform user administration in the company ERP system
• Manage the phone system (add/change users, provision handsets)
• Support the access control system
• Assist with time clocks (company and temp agency systems)
• Support remote desktop access for users
• Help vendors, remote users, and internal departments with connectivity and system access
• Troubleshoot network-connected facility equipment (including refrigeration controllers)
• Update and maintain computer and IT asset inventory
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues
• Support non-IT operational tasks as needed to contribute to the success of the operation
• Provide occasional support to the secondary office location
• Respond to after-hours and weekend issues as needed
• Document processes and maintain system access information
• Assist with testing, upgrades, and deployment of systems
• Occasional travel to other company locations may be required (rare, and may include overnight stays)
Requirements
• Strong hands-on desktop and hardware support experience
• Strong working knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365
• Solid experience with networking, including installing and configuring switches and managing IP addressing
• Experience supporting specialized systems (ERP, phone system, access control)
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently on-site in a production environment
• Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations change
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
Education & Certifications
• Education is a plus
• Relevant certifications are a plus, including:
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+)
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
• Google IT Support Certificate
• Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate
• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
• Microsoft 365 certifications
• Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
• ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification
• Any VoIP or systems administration certifications
