The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately receiving, processing, and documenting all incoming and outgoing shipments while working closely with the Shipping Coordinator to ensure efficient warehouse operations. This role includes preparing packages for shipment, verifying shipment contents, maintaining shipping records, and monitoring orders to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy against packing lists, purchase orders, and other documentation.
  • Prepare, package, label, and process outgoing shipments using carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight transportation services.
  • Schedule freight pickups and coordinate transportation arrangements with carriers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Examine incoming and outgoing shipment contents to verify accuracy, identify discrepancies, and ensure products meet company quality standards.
  • Receive, count, and accurately assign products and materials to designated inventory locations.
  • Pick, stage, palletize, and prepare customer orders for shipment in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping orders, commercial invoices, and work orders.
  • Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve issues related to damages, shortages, incorrect shipments, or nonconforming materials.
  • Perform basic quality control inspections to verify products are correctly identified, packaged, and routed to the appropriate destinations.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry using spreadsheets, inventory systems, and other software applications to support operational efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional, collaborative working relationships with team members and departments throughout the organization.
  • Ensure shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas are clean, organized, and maintained in a safe manner.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed.
  • Operate material handling equipment and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager within the scope and physical requirements of the position.
