Hansen Towing and Recovery is a growing company in the Grand Rapids area that will provide on the job training and give you an opportunity to advance in responsibility and income as we grow the company. We seek employees that are highly motivated, respectful, and show integrity. Our company guidelines include best in practice DOT vehicle restraints, frequent communication to customers, detailed documentation, and preventive methods for loading and unloading of vehicles. We are contracted with several motor clubs and have an expanding list of private and commercial local customers.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide service and assistance to customers in a professional, respectful, and timely manner.
- Practice safety guidelines for vehicle traffic management, and safe loading/unloading of vehicles.
- Monitor and report truck and equipment maintenance status/requirements daily.
- Maintain personal appearance and uniforms in compliance with company standards.
- Perform truck and equipment cleaning, and delivery of trucks for maintenance/repair.
- Submit weekly impound release invoices, detailed receipts, and driving history charts.
- Provide consistent on-time attendance to support tow calls while on duty.
- Attend safety training, study tow related information, and achieve professional certifications as directed by management.
- Provide highway safety traffic support with truck/ equipment to support other tow drivers as directed by management.
- Train new employees when requested (based on towing experience).
- Maintain excellent driving record.
Job Qualifications:
- Have a valid Michigan chauffeur’s driver’s license and DOT MED card. CDL-A drivers preferred.
- Demonstrate respectful customer service attitude and preferably clean driving history.
- Ability to lift safely 75 pounds without assistance.
- Successfully pass medical tests in compliance with company policy and FMCSA regulations.
- Applicants must have at least 7 years of non-criminal background with no pending cases and no violent background. Criminal and motor vehicle background check required for employment.
- Must reside within 30 minutes of down town Grand Rapids.
- Demonstrate English literacy, legible writing skills, and basic math ability.
- Possess Iphone or equivalent for tow dispatches and communication.
- Dispatch and customer communication experience preferred but not required.
- Full time position requires “on duty” time for 50 hours minimum for 5 to 6 days per week as directed by management. Must be able to work one day Saturday or Sunday afternoon/evening per week with a day off during the week instead.
