The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing billing claims and collections to ensure smooth financial operations. This position supports a medium-sized team and reports directly to the Billing Supervisor. The specialist handles billing, recordkeeping, and collections with a focus on interactions between patients and payers.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of billing claims for home care services
  • Maintain billing records ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Manage collections for outstanding balances and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Work closely with insurance companies, patients, and payers to address payment issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, payer requirements, and billing standards
  • Collaborate with the billing team and report to the Billing Supervisor
  • Utilize billing software and Microsoft Office Suite to maintain efficient workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in home care or hospital billing and collections
  • Strong understanding of medical billing codes, payer regulations, and reimbursement processes
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing sensitive client and insurance interactions
  • Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • This role is not remote or hybrid; on-site work required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing and collections
  • Strong interpersonal skills
