Employment Type: Part-Time, Employee (~20 hours/week)

Pay Type: Hourly

Work Arrangement: In-Office, Monday through Friday

About Kingfisher House Buyers

Kingfisher House Buyers buys, renovates, and resells homes across Central Virginia. We've built the business by doing direct-to-seller deals differently: treating people like people, not transactions. That approach is why sellers come back to us and refer their friends.

We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which means every person on this team has clear metrics they're responsible for. Everyone knows what winning looks like in their role, and we work with clear priorities and a team that holds each other to them.

We're growing fast, and every dollar we spend and every hire we make gets measured. Good decisions come from good data, not gut feel or whatever's trending that week.

About the Role

This role keeps Kingfisher's books current on a daily basis and holds payment authority for day-to-day transactions, such as vendor payments, property funding, and bill pay. It's a hands-on, in-office role that gives the finance team and other internal departments reliable, up-to-date financial data to work from.

Key Responsibilities

Daily

• Maintain the cashflow projection in the internal Dashboard

• Download and classify transactions

• Pull in vendor/contractor transactions from BuilderTrend and QuickBooks

Weekly

• Reconcile the books

• Process vendor/contractor payments

• Pay vendor payments through supplier portals

• Pay utility bills

• Match QuickBooks to BuilderTrend

• Produce weekly Balance Sheet and P&L reports for owners

Property & Funding

• Wire funds and earnest money deposits

• Coordinate lender funding requests as needed

• Journal purchase and sale transactions

• Close out properties in QuickBooks upon settlement and produce per-property P&L to owners at sale

• Pay monthly HOA dues on active properties

Monthly

• Process interest lender payments

• Produce monthly P&L vs. budget report for owners

• Provide financial data to other departments as needed (e.g., marketing reporting)

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Maintain up-to-date and complete contractor paperwork

Payroll & Benefits Administration

• Process payroll

• Administer the 401(k) function

What We're Looking For

• Prior QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience required

• Real estate industry experience is a strong plus

• Comfortable holding payment authority: accurate, detail-oriented, and trustworthy with company funds

• Able to work independently and keep the books current every weekday

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly, part-time. Not benefits-eligible.

$28-$38/hour based on previous experience

~ 20 hours/week
