Optometric Technician

Overview

Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center, P.C. is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our team!

We are a busy, full-service optometry practice providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. Our practice includes primary eye care, pediatrics, myopia management, binocular vision, vision therapy, specialty contact lenses, dry eye care, and more.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for their eye examinations
• Obtain accurate medical and ocular histories
• Perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing
• Perform OCT, visual fields, photos, and other specialized testing as needed
• Check visual acuities and other preliminary measurements
• Assist doctors during patient examinations
• Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation
• Help keep exam rooms and equipment clean, organized, and ready for patients
• Provide a friendly, professional experience for every patient
• Work as part of a collaborative team to keep the clinic running efficiently

Experience

• Previous optometric or ophthalmic technician experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Comfortable working with technology and learning new equipment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy office
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
• Comfortable working with patients of all ages, including young children
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities

Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn, takes pride in their work, and enjoys helping patients.
