Rivery Capital LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant responsible for our oil and gas revenue accounting, including natural gas revenue, owner distributions, severance taxes, property-level financial analysis, and month-end close. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of oil and gas accounting experience, strong knowledge of upstream revenue accounting, and the ability to collaborate effectively with our Accounting, Operations, and Management teams.
We’re looking for a hands-on professional who takes ownership, manages key aspects of the month-end close, investigates discrepancies, and contributes wherever needed to support the team. This is primarily an in-office position with limited remote flexibility.

To thrive/succeed as the Senior Property Accountant, you should have:
- 5+ years of oil and gas accounting experience, preferably within an upstream exploration and production company.
- Significant experience with oil and gas revenue accounting, particularly natural gas revenue, working interest, royalty distributions, and severance taxes.
- Experience with Revenue and JIB accounting cycles, monthly reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large data sets and perform detailed accounting analysis.
- Experience with PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and other commonly used Excel functions preferred.
- Experience with oil and gas accounting software and production/revenue systems preferred.
Your responsibilities as the Senior Property Accountant will include:
- Record and reconcile monthly oil and natural gas revenue, with a strong focus on natural gas revenue accounting.
- Calculate and process working interest and royalty owner distributions, including related severance tax filings and payments.
- Review purchaser statements, production volumes, pricing, deductions, and ownership information to ensure accurate revenue recognition and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, cash forecasts, and Lease Operating Statement (LOS) analysis, and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
- Manage monthly Revenue and Joint Interest Billing (JIB) close activities, ensuring transactions, allocations, billings, and distributions are completed accurately and timely.
- Assist with monthly financial statements, property-level variance analysis, audits, owner inquiries, and other accounting projects.
- Collaborate with Operations and Accounting teams to resolve property-level issues and identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and internal controls.
