Job Description
Role Summary
The FP&A Analyst is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day finance operations, including performing requested financial analysis, using financial technology systems, and other select finance-related tasks. The FP&A Analyst ensures timely reporting of all financial variance analysis, and forecasting adjustments for business leadership; and maintains accurate fiscal records and schedules. The FP&A Analyst serves as a primary contact for internal staff on financial matters (e.g. cost and rev forecasts, cost/benefit analysis, optimization opportunities, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
· Work closely with business operations to accurately reflect forecasts and provide analysis to drive additional profitability
· Provide support and coordinate with other financial employees to ensure alignment on priorities
· Update and maintain proper financial schedules (in excel and other software) related to revenue and expenses and all other financial information
· Provide support in coordination with operations to develop analysis tools to empower more informed decision making
· Utilize available systems to assist budget managers in developing and monitoring departmental, project, and organizational budgets
· Support fiscal month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities as needed
· Communicate financial performance regularly with finance leadership
· Continually seek and implement opportunities to streamline and improve finance operations through technology
· Help build and maintain financial models to allow for quick analysis and decision making for various stake holders
· Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements
Candidate Profile
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, or relevant field required
· Proficiency in Microsoft applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) with expertise in Excel
· Proficiency and hands-on experience with ERP software (eg. Oracle NetSuite)
· Superior data management and data analysis skills
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means
Preferred
· Prior experience supporting natural gas storage, pipelines, or midstream operations
· Experience with private equity backed companies
