Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, professional, and self-motivated Field Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair a wide variety of construction equipment across the Houston area. In this role, you will operate as the face of our company on various job sites, delivering high-quality mobile maintenance and exceptional customer service. We set our technicians up for success by providing a company work truck and assisting with large or specialized tools, while you bring your experience, core toolset, and strong problem-solving abilities to the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Diagnostics & Repair: Travel to various field locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diverse construction machinery.
- System Troubleshooting: Read and accurately interpret complex electrical and hydraulic schematics to pinpoint and resolve system failures efficiently.
- HVAC Service: Diagnose and repair mobile air conditioning systems to ensure optimal equipment operations and operator comfort.
- Parts Identification: Utilize technical manuals and parts books to accurately identify, source, and order the correct components needed to complete repairs.
- Documentation & Tracking: Maintain precise digital or written records, including completing service reports, tracking labor hours, and logging vehicle mileage accurately.
- Customer Relations: Interact with clients on-site in a highly professional manner, clearly communicating equipment statuses, repair timelines, and technical insights.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong, proven understanding of advanced electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and mobile AC systems.
- Schematic Literacy: Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting.
- Driving Record: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate the provided company work truck.
- Required Tools: Mechanics must supply their own basic hand tools and standard diagnostic tools (specialized and heavy tools will be provided).
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Outdoor Stamina: Comfortably work long periods outside, fully exposed to variable weather conditions and elements.
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform rigorous physical tasks daily, including lifting heavy components and swinging a sledgehammer.
