Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The Machinery Mechanic is a key team member responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of machinery across multiple sites. Reporting to the maintenance manager, this role involves troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. The mechanic occasionally travels to different locations to support ongoing operations and maintain consistent machine performance.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mixed machinery types
• Perform preventive maintenance to avoid equipment downtime
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Execute welding tasks related to machinery repair
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance
• Read and interpret blueprints for equipment calibration and repair
• Calibrate machinery and replace faulty parts promptly

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in machinery maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with preventive maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Proficient in welding and blueprint reading
• Strict compliance with safety protocols
• Effective problem-solving abilities

D&E Construction Inc is a Geosynthetics installer throughout CA. Most repairs are taken care of in the local shop. Depending on timing there are some instances that field service is required.
