Position: Medical Assistant-Part time-{174712}

Main Location: Saint Paul, MN 55105
Hourly Rate: $27.73/hr.
Schedule: This is a part time position and may require floating to other nearby locations.

• Work schedules will be created in 6-week blocks following the 3 weeks of training/orientation.
• All candidates for part-time positions should be willing to work every other weekend.
• Mondays and Fridays are typically very busy in the clinics as well, so availability on those days is preferred too.
• This position also requires working on some major holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients/guests warmly, set expectations, and help reduce wait times
• Room patients; collect patient history and document accurately
• Obtain and record vital signs; collect specimens for simple tests as needed
• Prepare/administer vaccinations and provide patient education materials
• Support the provider/practitioner during visits and help keep clinic flow moving
• Multitask between front desk, waiting area, and exam rooms (phone calls/messages included)
• Maintain clinic cleanliness and patient privacy (HIPAA/PHI handling and disposal)
• Assist with check-in and basic questions related to co-pays/billing/charges
• Order/stock supplies and complete point-of-care testing controls
• Participate in community outreach/engagement initiatives to support clinic growth

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Medical Assistant Certification
• At least 1 year of experience (especially Primary Care, Urgent Care, or ER)
• BLS Certification
• Comfortable preparing/administering vaccinations and educating patients
• Ability to accurately obtain/document patient history, vitals, and specimen collection
• Experience with EMR documentation (Epic or similar preferred)
• Understanding of basic health insurance concepts (co-pays, plan types, terminology)
