Job Title: Histotechnician
Location: White Plains, NY 10604
Pay Rate: $45–$55/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Flexibility: 1st and 2nd shift opportunities are available. A later shift may be considered for a suitable candidate.
License Requirement: NYS Laboratory License Required
Pride Health is hiring an experienced Histotechnician to support our client’s laboratory in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience with tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, staining, and other routine histology laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
- Process paperwork related to accessioning and reporting.
- Perform proper tissue processing.
- Perform embedding and microtomy for select specimen types.
- Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining.
- Perform manual or automated coverslipping of stained slides.
- Perform special stains as directed by the Histology Manager/Supervisor.
- Maintain and clean laboratory equipment.
- File completed blocks and slides.
- Follow laboratory quality-control policies and document QC activities.
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and applicable local and federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- AA/AS degree + 1 year of relevant experience within the last 10 years, OR
- High school education/equivalent + 5 years of full-time acceptable Histotechnician experience within the last 10 years.
- HT (ASCP) certification or ASCP eligibility, OR 5 years of full-time relevant experience within the last 10 years.
- NYS Laboratory License required.
