Childcare Lead Teacher and Assistant

Join The Children's Garden of St. John's Lutheran church team as a Teacher and ignite a love for learning in young minds! We are a robust program in the cumberland county area. We are an infant through kindergarten program 7am-5pm and a ministry of St. John's Lutheran church. Our teachers are helping to share God's love with all the children who spend time at our center.

We are looking for someone for our toddler and preschool programs.

• Meet DHS qualifications required to lead a classroom
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
• Supervise and support co-teachers, aides, and floaters within the classroom
• Serve as the primary point of contact for classroom and child-related concerns
• Maintain open and professional communication with families regarding student progress and classroom needs

Requirements

• Bachelors or Associates Degree. Preferably in Early Childhood Education
• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
• knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques.
• Demonstrated curriculum development
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and team members.
• Experience managing classrooms with diverse learners
• Prior experience is preferred.

The Children’s Garden was started by St. John’s in 1993. We are the largest single-site daycare in Cumberland County and are home to around 200 students each year. We are home to an amazing full day Kindergarten program and care for children from age 6 weeks on up. The school is a ministry of the church and we partner together for service opportunities as well as many activities through the year. Our Little Food Pantry, Little Library, summer garden and our Vacation Bible School are just a few highlights of our ministry together with the children at TCG. We walk together in faith and help the families that are part of our school to grow, share and serve God.
