Job Title: CDL‐A Route Driver (Local | Home Daily)

Pay: $30-32/hr DOE; OT at $45/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday; Saturdays as needed (OT available)

Start Time: 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM (varies by route)

Route Type: Local sustainability/recycling routes

Hiring Locations: Syracuse, NY and Farmington, NY

About the Role

Join a mission-driven recycling and sustainability company providing essential route-based container collection across Upstate NY. If you’re a safety-focused CDL‐A driver who takes pride in clean service, reliable performance, and strong customer interaction, this is a steady local position with strong overtime potential.

What You’ll Do

• Operate commercial vehicles safely in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and all state/federal regulations
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and DVIR documentation
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service issues immediately
• Follow assigned routes and communicate interruptions (road closures, unsafe sites, overweight containers, etc.)
• Provide professional customer service and relay requests to Dispatch/Route Manager
• Dump containers fully and leave each location clean, safe, and debris-free
• Accurately enter item details and pickup info into the company device (tablet/handheld)
• Complete end-of-day paperwork and check-out procedures

Required Qualifications

1. Valid CDL Class A license
2. 2+ years verifiable CDL‐A driving experience
3. Strong understanding of DOT/OSHA safety standards
4. Reliable attendance for early-morning start times
5. Ability to complete DVIRs and daily documentation
6. Comfortable using handheld devices/tablets for data entry and route documentation
7. Customer-facing / route-delivery experience strongly preferred

Preferred Experience

• Local route driving (delivery, service routes, recycling/waste, beverage, etc.)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience working with containers/receptacles or similar equipment
• Consistent ability to maintain clean, safe service areas
