Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Job Description
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports Notre Dame High School’s marketing, communications, and development efforts by creating and coordinating engaging, consistent, and mission-aligned communications across a variety of platforms. This position helps tell the Notre Dame story to prospective families, current families, alumnae, donors, and the broader community.
Working collaboratively with the Advancement, Admissions, and school leadership teams, the Coordinator manages day-to-day marketing and communications projects, maintains the school’s digital presence, produces marketing materials, and supports special events and fundraising initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a strong writer and communicator who is highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Employment Classification
This is a year-round, full-time position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the President and works closely with the Advancement and Admissions teams, faculty, staff, and other members of the school community.
Essential Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including print pieces, presentations, digital communications, website content, social media, video, signage, and other promotional materials.
- Maintain consistency with Notre Dame’s visual identity, including appropriate use of logos, fonts, colors, photography, and messaging.
- Create and coordinate school signage, posters, banners, and other promotional materials.
- Photograph and record video of school events, programs, students, and activities for use in school communications and marketing.
- Maintain and organize digital photography, video, and marketing files.
- Manage and regularly update the school website, including written content, photographs, calendars, and other information.
- Create and distribute the weekly all-school newsletter and other routine communications using Constant Contact or similar platforms.
- Write, edit, and proofread communications for a variety of audiences, including prospective families, current families, alumnae, donors, and community partners.
- Support Admissions with marketing materials, communications, open houses, recruitment events, and other enrollment-related initiatives.
- Identify and share opportunities to highlight student accomplishments, school programs, faculty/staff achievements, and other positive Notre Dame stories.
- Coordinate with outside marketing, printing, photography, web, or other vendors as needed.
- Assist with monitoring marketing-related expenses and maintain organized records of projects and vendors.
Development & Advancement Communications
- Support the Advancement team with communications that promote the school’s fundraising priorities and donor engagement efforts.
- Assist the advancement team with communications for the Annual Fund, Auction, Fund-A-Need, Endowment, Capital Campaigns, and other fundraising initiatives as needed.
- Develop and adapt print, digital, social media, email, video, and other communications in support of fundraising campaigns.
- Assist with communications and marketing materials for fundraising and advancement events.
- Work collaboratively with the Advancement team to promote donor stories, giving opportunities, events, and the impact of philanthropy at Notre Dame.
Collaboration & General Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with school leadership, Advancement, Admissions, faculty, staff, students, parents, alumnae, and volunteers.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and mission-centered presence when representing Notre Dame.
- Protect confidential and sensitive information encountered through the course of work.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Successful candidates will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, social media, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent proofreading and editing abilities.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating content for digital audiences.
- Strong photography and basic video production/editing skills.
- Experience with graphic design and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design platforms.
- Experience with website content management systems and electronic communication platforms such as Constant Contact.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced school environment.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information.
- A commitment to the mission and values of Notre Dame High School and an appreciation for its Catholic educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a school, nonprofit, advancement, or community-based organization.
- Experience with fundraising or development communications.
- Experience with website content management and basic analytics.
- Experience creating photo and video content for social media and digital marketing.
- Familiarity with the St. Louis community and local media landscape.
