Insurance Contracts Administrator
Location: Downtown Austin | Work Setting: IN-PERSON
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Contracts Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, self-motivated, and adaptable with a background in contracts, corporate risk, and/or insurance claims management. The candidate must be able to work independently while accepting direction and contributing positively to a team atmosphere. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively track tasks, coordinate with teams and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Essential Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and process insurance contracts, agreements, and amendments
- Ensure contracts comply with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Maintain contract databases and track renewals, expirations, and updates
- Coordinate with insurance providers and clients to prepare contracts and support related financial transactions
- Assess clients’ insurance needs and risk exposure
- Analyze contract and claims data to identify cost savings and high-risk accounts
- Interpret policy terms and determine claim eligibility and benefits
- Review applications for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contract terms
- Process claims and related documentation using standard insurance administration practices
- Assist clients with applications, renewals, and policy changes
- Communicate with internal and external partners to document claims activity and maintain bordereaux reports
- Manage reserves and track claims-related financial activity
- Conduct audits of contract documentation for compliance and accuracy
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Track premiums and payments using accounting software
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Industry experience: Prior experience in self-insured corporate risk, group life insurance policies, insurance claims adjusting, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Organizational skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and precision.
- Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills; takes initiative to identify issues, coordinate with others, and implement effective solutions to meet customer needs and deadlines.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to work across diverse personalities and roles.
- Technical proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.
- Project management: Solid project management skills; able to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Accounting – experience with any accounting software is a plus (i.e., QuickBooks, Xero, Peachtree, etc).
