Job Description

The Law Firm, PC, is seeking an experienced, dependable, and professional receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our clients and visitors.

We are a fast-paced, high-volume law firm built upon strong core values. Our team operates as a unified whole—and, in many ways, more like a family. We work hard, support one another, and genuinely enjoy coming to work each day.

If you are looking for more than simply a job—if you value purpose, camaraderie, gratitude, and the reward of contributing to meaningful work—this may be the place for you.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional telephone etiquette, a warm and welcoming demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. This position requires someone who can remain composed, efficient, and pleasant while managing the demands of a busy legal office.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available.

Formal, professional office attire is required. Pantsuits and blazers are encouraged, though not required.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The office is closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for lunch.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct a high volume of incoming telephone calls professionally and efficiently
  • Greet clients and visitors in a courteous, compassionate, and welcoming manner
  • Take accurate and detailed messages
  • Schedule appointments and assist with calendar management
  • Receive, organize, and distribute mail and legal documents
  • Perform data entry, scanning, electronic filing, and other clerical duties
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and other staff members
  • Maintain an organized and professional reception area
  • Protect client confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Work cooperatively with the entire team to ensure that the office operates efficiently

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous receptionist, front-office, or administrative experience is REQUIRED
  • Prior experience working as a receptionist in a law firm or legal office is STRONGLY PREFERRED.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and professional communication skills
  • Consistent punctuality, dependable attendance, and reliability
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Willingness to comply with the firm’s formal, professional office-attire expectations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, email, scanning, electronic filing, and data entry
  • Experience using legal practice-management software, such as Clio or a comparable program, is a significant advantage
  • Bilingual or Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Reliability and punctuality are essential to this position. Because the receptionist is responsible for opening the front office and serving as the firm’s first point of contact, the successful candidate must be committed to arriving on time and maintaining dependable attendance.

Compensation:

$18.00 to $19.00 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience.
