Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join a large manufacturing company in the Appleton/Waupaca, WI area for a direct hire.
Pay: $75,000 - 95,000
Description:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical to support the design, development, and implementation of foundry equipment, components, and support systems. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams while taking projects from initial design through installation.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanical engineer who enjoys solving problems, managing projects, and turning engineering concepts into practical manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design foundry components, equipment, and support systems using sound engineering principles and industry best practices.
Create detailed mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings for equipment and systems.
Manage projects from concept and design through component procurement, fabrication, installation, and completion.
Develop project budgets and monitor spending and forecasts.
Work directly with plant maintenance, production, and engineering teams to identify needs and implement solutions.
Provide engineering support for equipment improvements, modifications, and new installations.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure projects meet technical, budget, and schedule requirements.
Travel to remote company facilities as needed, generally up to 5%.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced CAD and 3D modeling experience, with a strong preference for Autodesk Inventor.
Knowledge of mechanical components including cylinders, motors, bearings, drives, and related equipment.
Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively within a team.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Manufacturing, foundry, or heavy industrial experience is a plus.
