Job Summary


We are seeking detail-oriented Solder Assemblers (Levels I through V) to build electrical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Positions range from entry-level assemblers to high-reliability Space-Level leads. Candidates will work with precision hand tools, soldering stations, microscopes, and various solder alloys (Sn63, Sn96, Sn10) in accordance with J-STD-001 standards.


Key Duties & Level Responsibilities

Level I & II (Entry to Intermediate)

  • Perform hand soldering on through-hole components and surface-mount chips down to 0402.
  • Work with Sn63 (Level I) and Sn96 (Level II) solder alloys.
  • Perform gold mitigation using tin and wick operations.
  • Utilize hand tools, torque tools, calipers, wire strippers, tinning pots, vacuum ovens, gross/fine leak detection, and epoxy application tools.
  • Maintain strict adherence to ESD safety procedures and chemical storage guidelines.

Level III, IV & V (Advanced & Lead)

  • Work with Sn10 solder alloys and cross-train across various production departments.
  • Build high-reliability Space-Level (S-Level) assemblies following the J-STD-001 Space Addendum (Level IV).
  • Collaborate with process engineering to optimize yields and troubleshoot defects (Level IV).
  • Serve as Resident Expert / Area Lead, mentoring and training team members while managing AX system data entry and transactions (Level V).


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education & Training:
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Level I: Basic soldering skills; completion of Valencia College EBA (Electronic Board Assembly) class or equivalent training required.
  • Experience Requirements:
    • Level I: Entry-level with relevant training.
    • Level II: 1+ years of soldering experience.
    • Level III: 2+ years of soldering experience.
    • Level IV: 2+ years of soldering experience + mastery of Space-Level assembly.
    • Level V: 5+ years of advanced soldering experience + leadership capability.
  • Certifications:
    • Active or prior IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification strongly preferred.
  • Technical & Manual Skills:
    • Ability to perform fine motor tasks under a microscope for extended periods.
    • Familiarity with multimeters, crimpers, wire strippers, and electronic principles.
    • Basic math skills and strong ability to follow written SOPs/blueprints.
  • Compliance & Security Requirements:
    • Must be eligible to work with ITAR data without a license.
    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance if required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Fine manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes, chemicals, and related byproducts.
