Title: Instrument Test Technician 1

Location: Sparks Glencoe, MD

Rate: $28/Hr

Shift Hours – 7AM-3:30PM

Note: This position is a contract to hire on W2, and is NOT open to C2C.

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Test & Assembly Technician to perform production assembly, system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of moderately complex instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and integrate instruments while understanding complete assembly requirements
  • Perform functional and release testing and determine pass/fail results
  • Analyze test data, troubleshoot failures, and recommend corrective solutions
  • Identify defects and recommend design, process, and performance improvements
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical support to production associates
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Follow GMP, safety, quality, and company procedures
  • Perform material handling and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics or related field with 0 years of experience, OR 5 years of electronic, mechanical, or software troubleshooting experience
  • Experience supporting testing of moderately complex instruments
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read drawings and measure/interpret dimensions and requirements
  • Familiarity with mechanical tools such as torque drivers, gauges, and bits
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and mentoring abilities
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Basic computer and Windows proficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple production orders and changing priorities
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is preferred
