Job Description
Position Overview:
Heltronics is a small wire harness and electrical mechanical manufacturer located next to Reading Regional Airport. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire Harness & Electronics Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position has a strong focus on soldering, wire harness assembly, and small electronic assembly.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on soldering experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately follow wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and detailed work instructions. The position requires the ability to work with small components and perform precise electrical and mechanical assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform soldering of wires, terminals, connectors, circuit boards, and small electronic components.
- Inspect solder joints for proper connection, appearance, and workmanship.
- Assemble wire harnesses and small electronic assemblies according to wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Cut, strip, crimp, terminate, and route wires using hand tools and production equipment.
- Perform wire-to-terminal, wire-to-wire, and component soldering.
- Install connectors, terminals, heat shrink, labels, and other harness components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wire diagrams, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
- Perform electrical rework and repair as needed, including removing and replacing soldered connections and components.
- Use soldering irons, soldering stations, wire-processing equipment, terminal presses, hand tools, and other production equipment.
- Inspect completed assemblies for proper soldering, wiring, routing, connections, and overall workmanship.
- Troubleshoot and correct wiring, soldering, and assembly issues.
- Perform continuity and basic electrical testing as required.
- Follow safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on soldering experience is required.
- Previous experience in wire harness assembly, electronics assembly, electrical assembly, or similar manufacturing work preferred.
- Ability to produce clean, consistent, and reliable solder joints.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings.
- Comfortable working with small wires, terminals, connectors, circuit boards, and electronic components.
- Ability to use hand tools and soldering equipment safely and accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and established assembly procedures.
- Manufacturing or production experience is preferred.

- Soldering wires and electronic components
- Wire harness assembly
- PCB or circuit board soldering
- Wire cutting and stripping equipment
- Terminal crimping and pressing
- Connector assembly
- Electrical continuity testing
- Electrical rework and troubleshooting
- ESD-controlled manufacturing environments
- Working from engineering drawings and wiring diagrams

Strong soldering ability and the ability to understand wiring diagrams and assembly drawings are key requirements for this position.

- 40 hour work week: M-Th 6:30 am - 4 pm, Fri 6:30 am - 10:30 am.
- No weekends and closed all major holidays
