Position: Dental Assistant / Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Destin, FL
About the Position
We are looking for a skilled, dependable, and patient-focused Dental Assistant who is EFDA Certified to join our dental team. The ideal candidate is confident in providing expanded-function clinical support, enjoys working with patients, and takes pride in maintaining a positive, professional, and efficient dental environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during restorative and other dental procedures
- Perform expanded functions within the scope of EFDA certification and applicable state regulations
- Takes dental X-rays as permitted
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with excellent chairside care and education
- Take impressions and perform other EFDA duties as permitted
- Assist with restorative procedures and temporary restorations
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow OSHA, infection-control, and office safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients and the dental team
- Help ensure a smooth and positive patient experience
Qualifications
- EFDA Certification required
- Dental assisting experience preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection-control standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Compassionate and comfortable working with patients of all ages
