Electrician Journeyman
Job Description
Pacific West Controls, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable California Certified Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. We specialize in commercial electrical work and Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC) for schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and commercial projects throughout California's Central Valley.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated electrician with strong commercial experience who takes pride in producing quality work, works safely, and enjoys solving problems in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams to execute jobs efficiently.
- Run conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC), pull wire, set panels, and terminate connections.
- Perform Title 24 lighting control wiring and Commissioning compliance checks.
- Supervise and mentor Apprentice Electricians on site, ensuring work quality and strict adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Coordinate directly with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Certification: Valid State of California General Electrician Certification issued by the DIR/DIR-DAS (Active Certification Card required).
- Experience: Minimum 4–5+ years of hands-on field experience.
- Code Knowledge: Thorough working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and California Electrical Code (CEC).
- Drivers License: Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean DMV driving record.
- Tools: Must own a standard set of hand tools appropriate for a journeyman wireman.
- Safety: Deep commitment to job site safety and mandatory PPE compliance.
