Veterinary Technician

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.

• Prepare and maintain our ICU and client lounge, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.

• Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.

• Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or veterinary technician.

• Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis.

• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.

• Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.

• Monitor the health and behavior of animals in the clinic, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian.

• Assist with procedures as needed.

• Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to prevent infection.

Requirements

• Knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and basic animal husbandry practices.

• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and animal restraint methods.

• Experience or training in veterinary technology is a plus.

• Ability to handle dogs and cats safely and effectively in a clinical setting.

• Understanding of terminology related to animal care.

• Experience with X-ray procedures

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.

• Compassionate attitude towards animals and their well-being.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
