Founded in 1987, Czar Millwork is a second-generation, family-owned and operated architectural millwork company. We combine old-world craftsmanship with modern technology and automation to produce exceptional custom millwork and fine woodworking.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed and accurate shop drawings for custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, and related products
  • Interpret architectural plans, specifications, field dimensions, and design documents
  • Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, and material callouts
  • Incorporate redlines, revisions, and approved submittal comments
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, production personnel, installers, architects, designers, and contractors
  • Identify dimensional conflicts, missing information, and constructability concerns before production
  • Prepare drawings that clearly communicate materials, hardware, finishes, joinery, and installation requirements
  • Maintain drawing accuracy while meeting project schedules and deadlines
  • Support projects from initial drafting through approval, fabrication, and installation

Qualifications

  • Approximately 3–7 years of drafting experience, preferably in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, casework, or a closely related field
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Solid understanding of millwork construction methods, materials, hardware, and joinery
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Experience producing complete shop-drawing packages with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with AWI standards is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, CNC programming, or other CAD/CAM software is a plus
  • Field-measuring and project-coordination experience is a plus

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, based on experience and capabilities
  • Health Insurance
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time
  • Retirement plan
  • Stable, full-time employment with an established family-owned company
  • The opportunity to work on challenging, high-quality custom millwork projects
  • A collaborative environment that values craftsmanship, accuracy, and professional growth

To apply, please submit your résumé and, if available, examples of relevant shop drawings or a project portfolio
