Control Panel Builder
SUMMARY
Installs electrical wiring and assembles components in control cabinets, electrical and industrial equipment, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams by performing the following duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Following established methods and procedures must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following:
- Locates and mounts all electrical components on control panels, drills and tap holes as needed.
- Attach breakers, relays, contactors, and bus bars.
- Wires all electrical components on panel.
- Cuts, strips, bends, and forms wire cables.
- Must be familiar with wire color, ratings, and routing.
- Solder connections and crimp connectors to wire ends.
- Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with manager or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of professional electrical panel building, desired
- Candidate must have basic hand and power tool experience
- Candidate must be able to read and follow wiring diagrams, one-lines, panel layouts, schematics, etc.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and wiring fundamentals
