Project Coordinator/ Runner
Job Description
About Us
Carlisle Masonry Construction, Inc. is a commercial masonry contractor based in Johnstown, Ohio,
delivering high-quality masonry construction on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Coordinator / Runner to support our Project Managers on active jobsites. This is a
hands-on, high-mobility role — you'll be picking up materials, delivering paperwork, tracking deliveries, and
keeping jobsites supplied and organized so PMs can stay focused on budget, schedule, and client
relationships. This role currently supports multiple PMs and projects at once, coordinating daily priorities
across them; as project volume grows, we expect to move toward a dedicated one-runner-per-PM model.
This is a great entry point into commercial construction for someone looking to grow into a Project Manager role over time.
Key Responsibilities
• Pick up and deliver materials, tools, and equipment between the yard, suppliers, and jobsites
• Track incoming material deliveries against POs; flag shortages, damage, or delays to the PM
immediately
• Run paperwork between jobsites, the office, and suppliers — permits, submittals, delivery tickets, signed
documents
• Maintain and organize jobsite trailers, tool storage, and material staging areas
• Assist the PM with day-to-day administrative tasks: filing, data entry, updating logs and trackers
• Take photos and basic progress notes at jobsites for PM and client reporting
• Support scheduling coordination — confirm delivery windows, subcontractor arrival times, inspection
appointments
• Pick up minor supplies (fasteners, PPE, small tools) as needed to keep crews working without delay
• Assist with jobsite cleanup and material organization as directed
• Communicate promptly with the PM on any issue observed at a jobsite — delays, safety concerns,
missing materials
• Balance and prioritize requests across multiple PMs/projects; flag scheduling conflicts to the Operations
Manager if competing priorities cant be resolved directly with the PMs involved
What This Role Does NOT Do
• Does not manage budget, schedule, or subcontractor agreements — that stays with the PM
• Does not make safety stop-work decisions — flag concerns immediately to the PM or Operations
Manager
• Does not independently commit to material orders or change orders — relays needs to the PM for
approval
Qualifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (frequent driving between sites/suppliers)
• Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet for photos, messaging, and basic data entry
• Strong organizational skills and reliability — this role only works if deliveries and paperwork move on
time
• Ability to lift materials and navigate active jobsites (uneven terrain, ladders, scaffolding areas)
• Prior construction, warehouse, or logistics experience a plus, but not required
• Basic understanding of construction terminology helpful, not required at hire
Preferred Qualifications
• Interest in growing into a Project Manager or estimating role over time
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Familiarity with basic construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend) a plus
Physical Requirements
• Frequent driving; frequent time on active jobsites in varied weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs regularly
Compensation Benefits
• Hourly: $24–$26/hr, commensurate with experience
• Health insurance
• Vehicle provided or mileage reimbursement (TBD)
• PTO policy (TBD)
